VINSCAN BAR CODE
It is hard to imagine a greater waste of time than inventorying
a dealership lot with a yellow pad trying to accurately record
17 digit alpha/ numeric serial numbers and then manually comparing
them to a print out to determine what cars are missing. VinScan
automates this task; a lot faster and more accurately than the
yellow pad.
Our system works with ADP, Reynolds, and UCS dealership management
systems. We can also provide solutions for other inventory systems.
This system is easy enough for any lot person to use and is
compatible with Ford, GM, Chrysler, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Mercedes,
Mitsubishi, Acura, Infiniti, Lexus, Mazda, Subaru, VW, Suzuki,
Kia, Hyundai, BMW, heavy duty trucks, motorcycles and Powersport
vehicles. If it has a bar code we can scan it.
We utilize a PSC Falcon 320 portable scanner. This scanner
will perform in sunlight and accurately record the bar codes.
A location can be added before the first scan. All vehicles
scanned will show that location until the location is changed.
The Falcon scanner will also allow the operator to manually
record a serial number as well as add a comment to any scan.
There are several conditions preprogrammed such as "flat
tire", "body damage" and "missing parts".
The system will allow the operator to add user-defined comments
during the scanning process.
After the scanning process, we download your current inventory
information from you dealership computer system into our system.
This can be accomplished with an existing terminal and you will
not incur any additional port charges from your computer vendor.
Our software will compare the scanned vehicles with the vehicle
information we downloaded. We will produce an exception report
that will list any missing vehicles and any found vehicles that
are not recorded in your inventory. In addition, we will list
any vehicles scanned with notes along with the note. An additional
report will provide a complete listing of all vehicles scanned
along with their location. This report will also be priced and
show the total dollar value of your inventory.
The special polyester labels we print are especially designed
to survive on the outside of the windshield in the rain, in
the scorching summer sun and a winter snowstorm. They contain
your stock number, the VIN number as well as the make, model
and color. These labels are produced using the data from your
dealership computer system to insure accurate information. We
use an exclusive technology that corrects many of the common
errors that occur in most manufacturers bar codes. This technology
allows us to successfully read bar codes that other systems
are unable to scan.
Lots of average size dealerships as well as some of the largest
dealerships in the country use ABS BarCode. We also custom develop
parts inventory and vehicle inventory applications. We have
